If you’re looking for a destination that combines skiing, nature, gastronomy, and charming villages, few places in the Pyrenees offer as much as Baqueira Beret. Located in the heart of the Val d’Aran, this ski resort is ideal for a weekend getaway or a 4 or 5-day mini-break during Easter week.
Arrival in Val d'Aran
Once settled in at the hotel, it’s worth spending the afternoon exploring the old town of Vielha, the valley’s capital. Its stone streets, local shops, and the historic Church of Sant Miquèu create the perfect atmosphere to begin experiencing the essence of the Aran Valley.
For dinner, we recommend our favorite restaurants.
Skiing in Baqueira Beret
In spring or during Easter week, it’s best to ski in the morning, as the snow conditions are better. The Baqueira ski resort is divided into several areas to suit all skill levels:
- Beret, ideal for families and leisurely skiers thanks to its wide slopes.
- Baqueira, the most central area with the widest range of services.
- Bonaigua, perfect for enjoying spectacular views of the Pyrenees.
A different kind of day: Relaxation and beautiful villages of the Aran Valley
In the Aran Valley, you will find many charming villages such as:
- Arties: One of the most beautiful villages in the Pyrenees. Romanesque church of Santa Maria de Arties.
- Salardú: Medieval streets and traditional architecture. Visit the Church of Sant Andrèu.
- Unha: Small village with one of the best views of the valley.
- Bagergue: One of the highest villages in the valley and one of the most picturesque in the Pyrenees.
You can also relax in hot water with mountain views from the Spa at the Hotel Tuc Blanc.
A perfect destination for families
The Aran Valley offers the chance to enjoy skiing, discover villages steeped in history, and savor authentic mountain cuisine. Perhaps that’s why many travelers who visit the valley for the first time end up making it an annual winter tradition, just like many of our guests at our hotel in Baqueira.
